New manager at Vics

Northwich Victoria have announced the appointment of Steve Wilkes as their new first team manager.
Steve takes over from Paul Moore, who stepped down last week, and will be joined at the club by his established coaching team of Steve Pickup and Andy Payton.
The new manager is, of course, a familiar face in our league, having previously managed Darwen, Runcorn Linnets, Ashton Athletic and at Padiham in two separate spells, where he led to the Premier Division title in 2013 and promotion to the Evo-Stik League.
He will take charge of the team for the first time on Saturday in the Premier Division fixture against Maine Road.
Speaking on the club website Steve said:
“I would say the aim this season is to stabilise the football club. I think it's highly unlikely that we can win the league from the position we're in, but we'll be striving to win as many games as possible.
“We're still in 3 cup competitions, so hopefully we can progress in these and who knows, try and win some silverware come next May”.
