Below are the main points from the Hallmark Security League's Annual General Meeting in Blackpool.
Meeting commenced at 11.00am.
The constitution was announced as follows:
- Atherton Collieries are promoted to the Northern Premier League after winning our Premier Division during the 2016/17 season.
- Burscough are welcomed back into the league from the Northern Premier League. They will play in the Premier Division.
- Widnes, Charnock Richard and City of Liverpool are promoted from the First Division to the Premier Division.
- Cammell Laird 1907, Nelson and New Mills are relegated from the Premier Division to the First Division.
- Abbey Hulton United have been promoted to the league from Step 7 leagues. They will play in the First Division.
- Ashton Town are relegated from the First Division to Step 7. They will play in the Cheshire League First Division.
The situation regarding Northwich Victoria is that they were relegated from the Northern Premier League. However the entity of the club has been changed to a new company, and as a result a vote was required to be put to member clubs to pass a resolution for them to take up membership of the league. This was passed by clubs, and as a result Northwich Victoria will play in the Premier Division.
Dave Tomlinson was voted on as President of the League, with Frank Clayton, John Deal and Geoff Wilkinson were all voted to be Life Members of the League. Billy Singleton has stepped down from the Management Committee. This left six vacancies for the Management Committee, including those who were seeking re-election.
Following a vote by member clubs:
- Martin Fallon, Lesley Pierce, Stuart Taylor and Ian Williams will serve a term of three years
- Tony McAllister will serve a term of two years
- Joe Doran will serve a term of one year
Chairman Paul Lawler closed the meeting at 11.44am.
Following the meeting, the following Commercial deals were confirmed:
- Hallmark Security are continuing as Main Sponsor of the League. The league will be continued to be known as the Hallmark Security League.
- Macron are continuing as a League Partner. The League Challenge Cup will be continued to be known as the Macron League Cup.
- LWC Drinks are announced as a League Partner. They will now sponsor the First Division Cup, which will now be known as the LWC Drinks First Division Cup.
- The National Football Museum in Manchester are announced as a Partner. More details will be announced regarding this in due course.
- The Royal National Lifeboat Institution are announced as the League Charity Partner for the 2017/18 season.
The cup draws for the Macron Challenge Cup and the LWC Drinks First Division Cup also took place after the meeting. These were as follows:
