Alsager Town's Ryan Wintle has signed a professional contract with League One club Crewe Alexandra.

The Bullets youngster made 30 appearances for the club this season, scoring nine goals, including a hat trick against St Helens Town on 17th January.

Following an extended trial at Gresty Road, Ryan has signed an 18 month contract with the club.

Alsager Town Deputy Chairman John Shenton said: "Apparently Ryan stood out in his trials and last Saturday, he scored the winning goal in Crewe’s under 18 Academy 2-1 win over Leeds United.

"We would like thank Ryan for his efforts while playing for us. For a 17 year old he has excelled in open age football, and the club wishes him all the best and hopes that he can make a name for himself playing as a professional footballer at the highest level he is able to achieve.

"Ryan goes into our club's record books as being the latest player in our history to move to a Football League club".
