Clubs Removed From The Men United Cup

Two of the victorious clubs in last Saturday's games in the Men United Cup have been removed from the competition, after fielding ineligible players in the ties.
The clubs involved are:
Alsager Town, who fielded an ineligible player in their game against AFC Liverpool.
Cammell Laird 1907, who fielded an ineligible player in the game at Runcorn Town.
As a result, AFC Liverpool and Runcorn Town have been reinstated into the competition.
League Secretary John Deal said: "The rules regarding player eligibility for the competition were updated and approved by clubs at the League Annual General Meeting in June, to ensure that they were in place for the start of this season's competition.
"The rules were changed to mirror those in operation in the FA Vase”.
"It is disappointing that we have had to remove two clubs from the competition, but the League Management Committee has to implement the rules agreed by the member clubs.
" I can’t stress enough, the responsibility of the Club Secretary, to check that the registrations of their players on a regular basis and to ensure that they are all eligible. If any club official requires clarification on the eligibility of players for League or Cup Competition matches, they should contact either Lesley Pierce or myself".
The revised draw for the Men United Cup quarter finals is now as follows:
West Didsbury & Chorlton v Bootle
AFC Liverpool v Runcorn Town
1874 Northwich or Colne v Atherton Collieries
Glossop North End v Squires Gate
There is, however, one other Club under investigation for playing an ineligible player, so the draw may change once again in due course.
