Elliott Wynne of Wythenshawe Town has been presented with his Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month award.

League Chairman Paul Lawler caught up with Ellio to present him with his award.

The goalkeeper had a superb month in September with four clean sheets collected in the month. This is what was said about him when the announcement was made.

PREMIER DIVISION - ELLIOT WYNNE (WYTHENSHAWE TOWN)

Elliot follows in the footsteps of Morgan Bacon and Callum Jakovlevs in winning this award for Wythenshawe Town. He was one of the great pre-season captures and the management team at the club were delighted when the goalkeeper agreed to join in spite of offers from higher up the pyramid where his clubs have included Atherton Collieries and more recently Altrincham.

Unavailable for the first couple of game Elliot played just the one game in August, making his debut away at Litherland REMYCA when he made several notable saves in an early onslaught that provided the basis for what was eventually a comfortable 3-1 victory.

September came and Elliot had established himself firmly as the number one choice for the position of custodian and he rewarded the Management team with string of fine performances. Although playing behind what has proved to be the most miserly defence in the league there was still much to do.

The first game of the month at Squires Gate saw just a single goal conceded and this was followed with a clean sheet against Burscough, although both games saw periods of sustained pressure that was dealt with by the Wythenshawe Town defence with the help of Elliot.

The next game against Longridge Town saw the unique event of Town finding themselves behind in a game for the first and only time this season when the visitors to Ericstan Park took an early lead. A spell of pressure threatened to take them to a surprise victory but the home defence with Elliot behind them held out and the game was soon turned around with the hosts recording a 3-1 victory.

That goal was significant as there were no further goals conceded in the month as Elliot then recorded three clean sheets in victories of 7-0, 2-0 and 3-0.

Congratulations to Elliott and to all at Wythenshawe Town.
