CONGLETON TOWN VS AFC FYLDE

The first thing to note about this game is that's it will be available to view on the BBC Red Button, just as Bury's game against North Shields was a few rounds ago. It's a 12:30 kick-off - perfect to whet your appetite for the later North London Derby.

It won't be the first time these two sides have come up against one another in competitive action. In 2009, both teams were playing NWCFL Premier Division football, which naturally meant one game at Congleton's Booth Street, and one at Fylde's Mill Farm. Congleton avoided defeat in both of those games, with a 3-3 draw taking place at Fylde's ground, and the Bears scoring a 1-0 win on home soil.

So far this season, in league action, Congleton have been a tough side to beat. They currently sit 10th in the table, with a solid 16 points, and have picked up some impressive wins before this weekend, such as a 4-1 win over Bootle in an earlier FA Cup round, and a 5-1 decimation of Isle of Man in league play.

Fylde, meanwhile, are 4th in their division, the Vanarama National League North, and also have 16 points to their name, but this is after just 8 league games.

They're also going into this game under the stewardship of Andy Taylor for the first time, following the very recent, acrimonious departure of manager James Rowe.

CLITHEROE VS BURY AFC

This game is certainly notable for being the first of its kind - with Bury AFC being such a young team in the grand scheme of things, we have never seen these two sides go up against one another, be that in competitive or non-competitive action.

Bury are going into this game with a full head of FA Cup steam. Having dismissed North Shields in an earlier FA Cup fixture this season, and having done so in front of a TV audience on the BBC Red Button, they charged into their next game against higher-division side Lancaster City with intent. At Lancaster's Giant Axe Stadium, they fought to a 1-1 draw and a replay, which turned out to be a chaotic affair. Bury won the reverse fixture 5-3 at the Neuven Stadium to set up this encounter with Clitheroe.

The hosts are coming into this game after a rocky start to the season in the Northern Premier League West - the division which both Macclesfield and Skelmersdale United were promoted to last season. They're currently 14th, 1 place above Skem, with 9 points from 5 games, which is 2 or 3 less fixtures played than their contemporaries around them in the table.

In league action, Bury are faring slightly better. As NWCFL Premier Division newcomers, they've climbed to 8th in the table, with 18 points from 9 games. They're one of the few teams in the league yet to break 10 games in the league so far, but have still achieved some eye-catching victories, with a 5-3 goal-fest win over Padiham early on, and a 4-0 drubbing of Isle of Man.
