As well as the Emirates FA Cup campaign this weekend, there are also games taking place in the Edward Case Cup, First Division North and First Division South.

 Edward Case Cup

The Edward Case Cup is split into Northern and Southern sections until the latter stages when they will merge. FC Isle of Man are the holders after beating camel Laird 1907 in last seasons final, however we will have knew when is this year with the Ravens now in the Premier Division.

In the Northern section, Euxton Villa travel to Atherton LR after a great start to life in the NWCFL. Last Saturday they won 3-2 away at Bacup Borough and followed it up with a 4-2 win at Cleator Moor Celtic midweek. LR drew 1-1 with FC St Helens on the opening day but went down 3-1 to AFC Blackpool midweek.

For FC St. Helens, that draw at LR has been their only game so far. They are at home in the cup this weekend for the first time this season against Darwen FC, with Darwen looking for their first goals of the season after two defeats so far. They lost 3-0 at home to Ilkley Town on the opening day and then 2-0 at home to Pilkington midweek

There are four ties in the Southern section, with Abbey Hulton United entertaining Stockport Georgians. The Stockport side lost 3-1 on the opening day of the season at home to Brocton, but picked up their first points away in a 1-1 draw midweek at Sandbach United, the equaliser coming 10 minutes into stoppage time at the end of the game. Abbey hulton looking for their first win after a 1-1 draw at home to Cheadle Town last Saturday and a 2-0 loss at Eccleshall midweek.

Ashville had a great start last Saturday when they beat Abbey Hey 4-0 and they came from behind to take a point at Cheadle Heath Nomads in a 1-1 draw. They are at home again this Saturday when they take on Eccleshall who have also had a great start. They have had two home games so far, beating Camell Laird 1907 1-0 and Abbey Hulton United 2-0.

Rocester are at home to Foley Meir with the home side looking for a new manager after Mark Grimley stepped down last weekend. That decision came after a 6-1 defeat at Sandbach United. Foley Meir have also played just once, that being a 2-1 away win at Cheadle Heath Nomads, with Aiden Lloyd scoring a stoppage time free kick to claim victory.

The final game sees Ellesmere Rangers host Alsager Town. Rangers beat Maine Road at home last weekend 2-1 before a 1-1 draw at Stafford Town midweek. Alsager lost 4-0 at Wythenshawe Amateurs on the opening day but drew 1-1 with New Mills midweek. This is the seventh meeting between the two sides with Ellesmere leading 2-1 in wins so far, with three draws in the other games.

 First Division North

As well as the cup there are five matches taking place in the First Division North and we will start with last seasons runners up Holker Old Boys. They were twice leading at Chadderton last Saturday but lost 3-2 to a late goal, that being their only game so far. They are also on the road this Saturday when they travel to Daisy Hill, with the Cutters coming from behind at half time last weekend to win 4-2 at South Liverpool. Last season saw Holker take four points off Daisy Hill as well as a Edward Case Cup win, and they are unbeaten in their last ten against the Cutters. We have to go back to November 2016 for the last Daisy Hill win in this fixture.

As mentioned Chatterton won last weekend against Holker and this weekend they are at home again to Dteeton. Roy Mason's men got off to a fantastic start last weekend with a 6-1 win over Cleator Moor Celtic and they will be looking to build on that. There have been six previous meetings between these sides with three wins each, however they are quite high scoring with Chatterton netting 15 goals and Steeton 16 goals.

Ilkley Town struggled last season in their first campaign but got off to a great start last weekend with a 3-0 win at Darwen. This weekend they host Runcorn Town who led last weekend against AFC Blackpool but had to settle for a 1-1 draw. This is the first ever meeting between these two sides.

Far from being the first ever meeting is Ashton Town against Nelson who first faced each other in the league back in March 1983. Both of these sides have played just once so far with both losing last weekend. Ashton Town lost 5-1 at Pilkington with Nelson losing 3-1 at Garstang. Last season saw Nelson complete the double over Ashton.

The final game sees Garstang at home to Bacup Borough. As mentioned above Garstang beat Nelson last weekend, with Bacup showing fighting spirit in their 3-2 loss against Euxton Villa, scoring two late goals in that game. Since Garstang came into the league in 2018 these have played five times, with two wins each and one draw.

 First Division South

There are three games in the First Division South with Wythenshawe Amateurs looking to capitalise on their good start as they host Stockport Town. Wythenshawe beat Alsager Town 4-0 last weekend, with Stockport also tasting victory with a 1-0 win away at Barnton. The two sides have met seven times previously With Wythenshawe winning all seven of those encounters including a penalty shoot out win last time out in last season's Edward Case Cup.

Barnton will be looking to bounce back from that loss to Stockport last weekend with another home game, this time against Brocton. The visitors are on the road once more after winning 3-1 at Stockport Georgians last weekend. They've only played each other twice in the past, those coming last season when Barnton completed a league double.

The final game sees Camell Laird 1907 host Cheadle Town. Lairds lost 1-0 at Eccleshall last weekend with Cheadle having to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw at Abbey Hulton United. They have met nine times in the past with perfect symmetry in the results, three wins for each side and three draws.
