By Martin Fallon

The draw for the Inter Step Play Off has been made with Skelmesdale United visiting Cinderford Town in their bid to gain promotion to the Northern Premier League for next season.

Cinderford are currently members of the Southern League Division One South. They are based in Cinderford in Gloucestershire, and play at the Causeway Ground. This will be the first time that they will have played a team from the North West Counties Football League.

This season they finished third from bottom in the league which is a step above Skelmersdale. They had the fourth worst Points Per Game of all the third bottom sides across Step 4 with 31 points from their 36 games played. This is why they are in the play-offs, and will be fighting to stay in their division.

Of the 31 points they scored, 21 were at their home ground where they finished with a record of played 18, won 6, drew 3, lost 9, scored 28 and conceded 40. They will come into this game on the back of a four game losing streak, with their last win coming on Tuesday 5th April when they beat Bideford at home 1-0.

Skelmersdale reached the play-off's by finishing second in our Premier Division. Their away record for comparison is played 20, won 10, drew 3, lost 7, scored 42 and conceded 32.

Kick off next Saturday is 3.00pm.
