Division One North has an interesting look about it at the moment as there is the start of a breakaway group just starting to form.  This weekend could see that group from fifth upwards well and truly flying solo, or potentially hauled back.

There is a massive game at The Arcoframe Stadium this weekend as leaders, Pilkington FC take on Golcar United.  Whatever way that game finishes will have a massive impact at the top of the table.

Holker Old Boys are also very much in the mix near the top and they will be looking to keep the pressure on at the summit as they host Nelson, the visitors suffering only one defeat in their last six games.  Bury Travel to Garstang looking to keep the gap between them and the chasing pack as large as it can be whilst also keeping the pressure on at the top.  Bury are in decent form at the moment with five wins in their last six in all competitions and that includes last weekends Vase win over Northwich Victoria.

AFC Blackpool travel to Jericho Lane to take on South Liverpool.  The Mechanics also looking to take advantage of any slip ups by the top sides.  Blackpool have won only two of their last five league games, however have been solid on the road, whilst on the flip side, South have been patchy at home.

St Helens Town travel to Ilkley Town this weekend, still looking for their first win of the season, whilst their hosts will be looking to continue to put daylight between themselves and the bottom four but having lost their last three.  Cleator Moor Celtic are also in the bottom two and they face a trip to Steeton on Saturday who themselves also find themselves too close to the trap door for comfort.  Is it too early in the season to use the term ‘must-win’?  Yes, probably!

Daisy Hill have lost three of their last four and they welcome Bacup Borough to New Sirs this weekend.  Bacup travel in good form having won their last three in all competitions and keen to keep in sight of the leading pack in the table.  Chadderton are another who will be keen to keep the likes of Bury in their sights, they host Campion this weekend who won away at Daisy Hill last time out.

AFC Darwen will be hoping to make home advantage count as they welcome an Atherton LR side who are without a win in their last six.
