Just as with Division One North, The South equivalent are also seeing a potential breakaway group form near the top of the table as five points separate 6th and seventh in the table.  Also similar is the close proximity of the top sides.  This weekend sees fixtures that could really mess up the order of the top six depending on results.

A mouth-watering Manchester Derby sees third placed Abbey Hey host league leaders West Didsbury and Chorlton at The Abbey Stadium in what could be a cracking game.  Abbey Hey are bang in form with nine straight wins going into this one whilst West Didsbury aren’t too shabby either with seven straight wins and unbeaten in nine.  Say no more!

But I will… If the two Manchester sides Vance each other out this weekend that could be the cue for New Mills to regain the lead in the table, however they will have to overcome Eccleshall who parted company with their manager this week.

Wythenshawe Amateurs are also courting the summit, they host Alsager Town this weekend whilst Sandbach, who also sit in that top six group, host Cammell Laird 1907.

Matt Jansen’s Stockport Town host FC Isle of Man this weekend looking for an upturn in form having taken five defeats in their last six games.  The Ravens last outing saw them outplay Cammell Laird, winning 6-1 on the day and lifting them into mid-table.  Another win for them this weekend could see them have a very different perspective soon.  Just a footnote for anyone attending this one, the kick off is at 230pm.

It has been all change at St Martin’s this weekend following the departure of their Manager after their 18-0 hiding in the Vase last weekend.  Josh Gough has come in with a new coaching staff and some new faces and they will be looking for an immediate impact as they travel to Brocton.  Rocester are another club who are in the middle of a change of managerial era at the moment, they host Barnton and will be looking for some quick points to try and get away from the Step six trap door.

Ellesmere Rangers will be looking to keep that gap between themselves in sixth and that chasing pack, and potentially climb higher as they travel to a Maine Road side who are just a point above the drop zone.  Cheadle Town and Stafford Town are hot on the heels of Ellesmere and they go head to head this weekend at Park Road.

Abbey Hulton United welcome Cheadle Heath Nomads in the remaining game in the division this weekend.
