Division One South club, Cheadle Town have announced the appointment of Lloyd Morrison as first team manager ahead of the forthcoming season.

The new manager arrives at Park Road motivated to contribute towards the wider project of growing the club both on and off the pitch. The move represents a major coup for Cheadle as Lloyd carries a breadth of recent management experience in the Northern Premier League.

After a playing career which saw him play for Chadderton, Maine Road and Mid Cheshire League side Styal, Morrison became player manager at Styal winning the League title in his second season in charge, a team which included current Chairperson Craig Brennan. He then stepped up to the NWCFL with Flixton and with little or no budget took the now disbanded club from adrift at the bottom of the NWFCL when he took over, to avoiding relegation. Flixton then finished 15th in his first full season and 8th place in 2011/12 before he took over at Winsford United in July 2012, most recently departing Glossop North End who he’d been with since 2018.

Cheadle Town's new gaffer steps straight into the hot seat this week with an away game at Tintwistle Athletic followed by a home debut against 1874 Northwich.
