PRESENTATION: Macron NWCFL First Division North Player of the Month for December

Thu 16th January 2020 | League Awards
By Craig Kendall

Just before a week last Saturday's game between AFC Liverpool and Atherton LR, Kyle Schorah of AFC Liverpool was presented with the award for Macron NWCFL First Division North player of the month for December, by NWCFL Director Chris Stirrup.

Games Played: 6

Man of the Match: 2

Goals: 1

Assists: 4

Reason for Nomination: Kyle has been ever-present this month playing 6 games in 3 competitions proof if it were needed, that he has become integral to manager Chris Anderson's philosophy and his team's identity. Kyle plays on the right-wing and uses his pace and trickery to torment opposing defenders and create chances for our forwards. His moment of the month came in our Boxing Day fixture away at league leaders Lower Breck. As the game entered added time we were trailing 3-2 when Kyle intervened, picking the pocket of a defender who dwelt on the ball a split second too long.

He moved the ball to the side before curling a 20 yard shot beyond the outstretched hand of Josh Molloy to earn his side a valuable point and the man of the match nomination. He is, without doubt, our most fouled player so it is to his credit that he has yet to be booked this season. Kyle is developing into a top-class player and is still only 18 years old. He surely has the brightest of futures.
