NWCFL Premier Division side Bootle Football Club have this afternoon confirmed that Bobby Capstick has stepped down as chairman and resigned from the club's committee.

A statement from the club says, "The club's committee would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Bobby for his outstanding loyalty, hard work, and dedication shown over the last 19 years.

The effort and time that he has put in to make the club what it is today can not be any greater. His outstanding contribution is there for all to see and the club would simply not be what it is today without Bobby Capstick.

Bobby was the man who stepped up at a very difficult time for the club, after our previous chairman, Frank Doran Junior, passed away, and has led the club with integrity and distinction that is the mark of who Bobby is.

We wish Bobby all the very best for the future and hope to see him regularly at the Berry Street Garage Stadium.

The club will make a further announcement over the coming days."

Bootle are next in action tomorrow evening, when they face Rylands in the Liverpool Senior Cup (7:45pm kick-off).
