Buildbase FA Vase 1st Round

Chadderton 1-3 Guisborough Town

Chadderton manager David Fish: "Despite the result I'm really proud of the lads. Guisborough were a big, experienced side who are doing well a step higher and we matched them in terms of physicality and the quality of our football. Losing Joe Richards in the second minute was a blow but we were the better team in the first half and were very close to going on ahead.

"Second half was more even and a bit of quality from Guisborough was the difference, when their chance came they took it whilst we knocked on the door but couldn't create anything clear cut. The Vase run was nice and it would have been nice to keep it going, but with the promotion places available this season the league is the priority.

"The Macron cup game with Wythenshawe Amateurs next week will be another good chance to benchmark ourselves then we have a run of 6 huge league games, including home games with Lower Breck and Ashton Town. If we match yesterday's effort, work rate and team spirit we have every chance of pushing into the top four after those 6 games."

Rylands 3-0 Bootle

Rylands manager David McNabb: "The lads were brilliant from start to finish today. We’ve had a tough couple of weeks but the lads bounced back brilliantly. We played a very good Bootle side and dominated them for 90 minutes. A gear performance and were in the hat. Great performance."
