NWCFL First Division side St Martins are searching for a new manager after they accepted the resignation of Paul Moore - following their 5-0 loss in the PlayerMatch.com Cup Second Round yesterday to AFC Liverpool.

Moore had been with the club for just over four months, but after accumulating just nine points from their opening ten games, he has decided to leave the club.

A statement from the club says, "We mutually agree that his appointment hasn’t worked out the way we had all anticipated and therefore the club thank Paul for his efforts and wish him all the best in his future appointments.

This turn of events follows a period of turmoil which includes a run of poor results, the resignation of the clubs general manager and several key players having left to go to a local rival team.

We are however happy to announce that Dave Smith has accepted responsibility as interim manager starting immediately whilst the club advertise for a permanent replacement.

Dave has said “I’m really proud to be asked to take this role … and will do my best”

Further announcements can be expected over the next few days."

St Martins are next in action next Saturday when they face a trip to Cheadle Heath Nomads in the NWCFL First Division South.
