Rylands 2-3 Bootle

Rylands manager David McNabb, "We didn’t start the game well again, which is frustrating. I think we gave them a little bit too much respect early on as well as us suffering a bit of a hangover from Wednesday's performance and result.

"Second half, I thought we were exceptional and deserved to get back into the game. From that point, I thought we looked the more likely to get the winner but fair play to Bootle, who was brilliant throughout, they managed to get the late goal and took the three points."

Skelmersdale United 0-1 Winsford United

Skelmersdale United manager Paul McNally, "Bad day for us today, we just never got into any rhythm and lacked quality when it mattered. We will pick ourselves up and put it right in our next game, the lads set the standards high earlier on this season by working hard as a team and we must get to the levels again quickly.

"Well done to Winsford today they fully deserved the win."

Winsford United manager Lee Duckworth, "A frustrating game which we controlled well without finding the breakthrough. We knew if we were patient we had a good chance. They were very physical and the lads needed not to react to some of the challenges. Overall a solid three points."
Padiham 0-1 Ashton Athletic

Padiham manager Adam Morning, "Fair play to Ashton, they fully deserved there win. We need to be better."

Ashton Athletic manager Jay Foulds, "Very pleasing to grind out a result against a resolute Padiham side. I thought we dominated the first forty-five minutes and was very unlucky not to go in one-nil up. Second half we continued to press forward and we got ahead courtesy of a well-struck free-kick from Dec Gallagher.

"Padiham pushed for the equaliser but the back five looked solid and dealt with the direct play. The way the lads managed the game after we scored was very pleasing, all in all, a good day."

Barnoldswick Town 2-4 Whitchurch Alport

Barnoldswick Town manager Matt Barnes, "Most of the game we were in control but when you make mistakes against strong sides you get punished. We missed chances again also, but positives from the game most definitely."

Burscough 1-2 Charnock Richard
Burscough manager Nick Matthews, "We played quite well at times and were comfortable in possession. Charnock's main threat was the long diagonal ball; which is effective for them with the pace they have in Darr and Regan, but again I thought apart from the couple of times they got in, we defended quite well.
"Griffiths and Pope both had decent debuts and they gave us more balance in midfield. Lomax scored a great individual goal and on another day he converts his chance early in the second half which would have put us two-nil up.
"Unfortunately, our Achilles heel on defending set plays came back to haunt us. Poor marking and positional sense for the first and a heavily deflected freekick for the second. Hopefully, get two or three more signings in this week before the Runcorn Town game."

Cleator Moor Celtic 3-2 Bacup Borough

Cleator Moor Celtic manager Craig Routledge, "We’ve been playing quite well recently but not seeing games through, however, you always need three points to build some confidence and belief. We know results are not easy to come by in the League and we had to stick together.

"I’m proud of the players, although we aren't satisfied with how the game panned out, we are pleased to get a win. We know we still need to improve and what needs to be improved upon."

Bacup Borough Manager Brent Peters, "We got off to a bad start by going two goals down fairly early in the first half, from this we never got going during the half. It was like our boys were chained to their coach seats and Celtic was just picking us off. Their opening goal was just pure luck. Our defender wrongly lashed at the ball when he could have been more composed, and by lashing at the ball it struck the player in front of him, bounced back to one of their players to finish.

"Their second goal was a long ball with two defenders running back to their own goal. Our keeper can see everything so I would have expected better information from him. The defender had a chance to hit it home with pace on the ball, this or put the ball out of play. He did neither, his reactions were slow to the point their frontman dispossessed the defender in question and then produced an easy finish.

"Half time could not come quick enough, the lads got told some home truths. First from the captain, then from the coach and finally from me. I made a positive change at the break bringing Alex Mellor on for Josh Walne and then ten minutes into the second half I brought Ryan Siddall on for Bradley Hancock, both substitutions made a massive contribution in turning this game into our favour.

"First of all, Alex Mellor was bright on a quick free-kick after Joel had been fouled, it was the alertness of Mellor getting onto the ball before driving forward for Kyle Siddle to score, then our other substitute Ryan Siddle coming in off the left got the all-important equalising goal. At this point we had enough chances to have gone onto win the game, however, the referee awarded a debatable free-kick in a dangerous area.

"From the free-kick we defended it, then plenty of bodies got behind the ball to which we should have then been awarded throw-in, but the decision went to Celtic, again we had chance to clear the ball but young Ross Mallinson for some inexplicable reason took touch, touch, touch and got caught. The ball was played through a body of players, to take a deflection away from our keeper and trickled into the far post. To concede and manner we conceded was a bitter pill to swallow, but the bottom line is, all three goals have come through wrong decisions, wrong decisions by relatively inexperienced players that will learn, but it looks like they will learn the hard way.
"It does not matter how ugly it is, but with seconds left on the clock, the ball needed to go to relieve the pressure, taking too much time has most certainly cost us."
