Fri 20th September 2019 | Wythenshawe | By Craig Kendall
NWCFL First Division South side Wythenshawe Amateurs have confirmed that that they have reluctantly agreed to accept the resignation of Shane Goldrick.
A statement from the club says, "Wythenshawe Amateurs are very disappointed to announce that we have reluctantly agreed to accept the resignation of Shane Goldrick, who will be stepping down from his position as first team manager with immediate effect.
Assistant manager Martin Ivison and first team coach Francis Egan will take charge of training and Saturday’s match against Cheadle Heath Nomads.
The focus will be on making sure the players remain fully focused on the job they have to do as we look to make 2019/2020 a successful season.
The club would like to express their appreciation to Shane who in his three years at the helm has completely transformed our football club.
Shane has improved the style of football we play, won the Gilgryst Cup and after securing promotion from the Manchester League has assembled a squad that is able to compete with the best teams in the North West Counties Division One South.
The club has already started the recruitment process for a new first team manager.
The new manager will be one that shares our values, our principles and our philosophy; a manager who can continue to grow the First Team and build on the strong foundations Shane leaves behind."
Wythenshawe currently lie 8th in the standings having taken 14 points from their opening 9 games.
