After just five games in charge, Garstang parted company with former professional footballer Andy Payton last week, and the First Division North side earlier this week announced that Richard Cookney has been appointed their new manager.
Cookney is looking forward to the challenges ahead, "I'm delighted to be the new Garstang manager. I felt it was the right time to challenge myself by moving to the North West Counties. I'm confident in my own ability and cant wait to get started."
Cookney is set to take charge of his first game this afternoon when his new side takes on Sunderland West End in the FA Vase 1st Qualifying Round.
