Shelley has started their second term in the NWCFL in superb style, as they made the 70-mile journey home on Saturday with three points in the bag - much to the delight of the side from West Yorkshire.

29-year old striker Craig Billington netted a brace in their 2-1 victory and was pleased with the result, "The team performance was very good. We played really well from minute one. It wasn’t just the attacking side of things because defensively we looked really good and pressed the ball well and I think it put Garstang off there game a little.

The former Emley AFC and Brighouse Town forward gave an analysis on himself, "My own performance, I was very happy with. Yes, I scored two goals, but it was more of the work rate and effect off the ball that I was happy with. I like to help bring others into the game I felt I did that well.

"Top four will be a tough one. There are some very good sides in this league but I think if we play as we did on Saturday, every week, we have every chance to do that."
