Irlam recently hosted a Puma advertising campaign shoot at Silver Street, featuring Manchester City players Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure.
The day came about at pretty short notice, but was well worth doing, as Club Secretary Warren Dodd explained.
"We got a call from a media company, The Production Office, based in Manchester who were looking for an appropriate venue to film some football related shots. No more information than that. Like many Clubs, we are always a bit sceptical of calls out of the blue, but nonetheless agreed to meet the contact.
"On arrival at the ground, it was clear that we were onto a good thing, with the company informing us they were representing Puma and were filming for their new football boot range, to be launched prior to Euro 2016.
"Things moved pretty fast, and within days we were hosting an event, with Puma representatives flying in from Europe and America. The event was very much under wraps, with us signing confidentiality agreements to ensure everything was kept confidential. Once it all got under way, our new Clubhouse became a real media hub, with every table covered with laptops, filming equipment and kit and boots.
"The stars of the show were Manchester City players, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero. It was great to see the players in action at Irlam FC as they went through their paces at the ground, going through action shoots with the new products. It was a long day, 8am until 10.30pm at night, but a thoroughly enjoyable one.
"Our thanks go to Guy Ferrington and Anna Jones from the Production Office for making the day such a great success".
Before he left, Sergio Aguero posed for a picture in the Silver Street club house.
