Applications From New Clubs

The latest position regarding applications from clubs wishing to join our League in season 2016-17 is as follows.

(A): Applications from Clubs currently playing in Step 7 Leagues

The following Step 7 Clubs have confirmed their applications to the FA for promotion to Step 6:

Carlisle City: (Northern Alliance) who are seeking promotion to either the Northern League or North West Counties League.

Charnock Richard (West Lancashire League)

Prestwich Heys (Manchester League)

(B): Applications from Clubs not currently in a Step 7 League or Division

The following Clubs have notified an intention to apply for membership:

AFC Flixton

FC Oswestry Town

Wythenshawe Town

(C): Applications from new Clubs

The following NEW Club has applied for membership:

City of Liverpool

Applications from Clubs in categories (B) & (C) are subject to approval of the League Management Committee, who would then make an application to the FA on their behalf. They would only be placed at Step 6 in exceptional circumstances, and where there is a vacancy, after promotion and relegation issues with Step 7 have been satisfied.

There are a number of other Step 7 Clubs who have received advisory ground grading visits, but to date have not advised the League Management Committee whether they are persuing an application to the FA for promotion.

Closing date for Step 7 applications to the FA for promotion is 31st December, and applications should be sent to:  promotions@thefa.com
