Alsager Town have announced the appointment of a new management team.

Will Ryder takes up the manager’s role and Steve Harper will be his assistant. Both men are the holders of UEFA coaching badges and have extensive experience at a higher level of football

Will is an Under 14's - 16's Youth Development Phase Coach at Wigan Athletic, and played at Evo-Stik League level for several clubs, while Steve played for Port Vale and Preston North End in his professional career.

Alsager chairman Terry Greer told the Sentinel newspaper: "There was a lot of interest in the job, but I managed to whittle the list down to five and they stood out above the rest".

Callum Carey, who has been in temporary charge of the first team since Danny Griggs left a few weeks ago, will take charge of the team for the scheduled Premier Division game at Bacup and Rossendale Borough, with the new management duo taking over for Saturday’s game at Maine Road.
